Zululand Historical Museum
Vukani Zulu Cul;tural Museum is part of the Fort Nongqayi Museum Village, which includes:
* Zululand Historical Museum
* Mission Chapel Museum
* Phoenix Prison Art Gallery
* KZN Papermakers
* Adams Outpost Restaurant
* Beautiful Things Gallery and Craft Shop.
Attached to the Museum Village we also have the Eshowe Butterfly Dome but I would suggest that you phone 035-474 9650 to get accurate entrance fees.
Once a year we hold a Heritage Festival close to International Museum day (18 May). This is a very colourful event with special entertainments for all sections of the community, including children, always based on our shared heritage.
Outdoor party and event venue
The museum has spacious grounds with open areas for marquees and an arboretum for picnics. The chapel may be hired for weddings and meetings and our restaurant, which is in an old settler home, is highly recommended.
All enquiries about functions and group tours of the Village must be made to the Zululand Hisorical Museum on 035-474 2281. Group tours of just Vukani Museum can be referred to the Curator on 03474 5274. Special activities can be designed to answer group needs.
