Support group for families of children with cancer & other blood disorders
Childhood cancer has a profound effect on everyone it touches. With empathetic support and the right information, it is possible to not only survive its ravages but end up stronger, wiser and more compassionate.
It is with this focus on compassion, that CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA was founded. As a countrywide organisation, we provide holistic support for children suffering from cancer and life-threatening blood disorders as well as their families.
We bring together the parents of children who suffer from all varieties of cancer or life threatening blood disorders - and is dedicated to improving the welfare and quality of care of children with cancer.

CHOC is an acronym for Children’s Haematology Oncology Clinics and was established in 1979 by a parent group in Johannesburg. They recognised how far-reaching the impact of cancer is on families and the children undergoing treatment.
We do not receive funding from government but rely heavily on donations from caring corporates, individuals and parents of children with cancer. All funds raised are used to provide all-encompassing support – from direct practical help to the children and their families and those involved in the treatment – to necessary equipment.
